“Pon! Pon!” Onigiri Mold for 4 Small Rice Dumplings
Making filled rice dumplings has never been so easy! Perfect for a dinner for two, a snack with friends, or packing in your bento box. In just four simple steps, you’ll have four round onigiri about 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter.
- Place a small amount of vinegared rice in the beige bowls in the middle.
- Press down with the smaller bowls to create a hollow in the center of the rice, and add your chosen garnish.
- Add the same amount of rice to the large brown bowls and close the beige bowls on top.
- Lift the large brown bowls to unmold your rice balls. That’s it!
If the rice sticks to the mold, add water or oil to create a thin layer at the bottom. Now that you’ve got the hang of it, get creative with different flavors and fillings! This mold can also be used for meatballs and other treats.
